Looking for something to do in Metro Vancouver? Here are three suggestions for Wednesday, Feb. 14.
Sealed with a Fish: After Hours at the Vancouver Aquarium
It’s Valentine’s Day, and if you still don’t have a date planned, a) what are you doing, and b) I’ve got three great suggestions for you right here. The first of these: why not spend the evening at the Vancouver Aquarium? You may find it’s incredibly romantic when there are no children in the building. That’s the big hook for Sealed With a Fish, a rare adults-only evening at Van Aqua where you and a date can explore the aquarium without having to dodge literal busloads of children. Plus you can get cocktails.
Where: Vancouver Aquarium, 845 Avison Way, Vancouver
When: 6 – 10 p.m.
Burlesque Duos at The Rio Theatre
Or maybe you’re looking for something a little more risqué. If so, check out Burlesque Duos at the Rio Theatre, which is exactly what it sounds like: burlesque performers — eight of Vancouver’s best, to be precise — paired with one another for a series of innovative and titillating duets. A great date night, because nothing says romance like watching a third party undress.
Where: Rio Theatre, 1660 East Broadway, Vancouver
When: 7 p.m.
Love at 1st Flight: A Valentine’s Day Brewery Tour
Or perhaps you just want to go grab a few drinks with your valentine. If so, splurge on Love at 1st Flight, a Valentine’s Day Brewery Tour that includes an evening of craft beers over candlelight, and a full meal, including dessert. You had me at dessert, your date will probably say. Breweries include Postmark Brewing, Luppolo Brewing Company and Deep Cove Brewers + Distillers.
Where: Vancouver Brewery Tours, 601 W. Cordova St., Vancouver
When: 4 – 8 p.m.
