Abbotsford police release sketch of school sex assault suspect

Abbotsford police have released a composite sketch of man wanted in connection with a Jan. 17 sexual assault that occurred on the grounds of John Maclure Elementary School.

A teen girl was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground by an unknown man, but she was able to escape and run toward a nearby business to get help.

The suspect was described a white man with a scruffy beard in his 30s or 40s. He stood 5-foot-11 with a medium build and approximately 175 pounds.

The suspect was wearing dark jeans and a zip-up hoodie with the words “Dry Fit” on the back.


Anyone with information about this incident or the suspect’s identity is asked to contact Abbotsford police at 604-859-5225 or #222973 from a mobile phone.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam video footage of George Ferguson Way between Oriole Crescent, Garden Street and Gladwin Road that was taken between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 17.
